Beer Booth Volunteer, NTIF 2010
The Coordinator, Manager and Volunteer meeting will be held on January 27th at 1:00pm at the Doubletree Hotel, Campbell Center - the Gold Towers on 75 just south of NW Highway.. That's the host hotel, on the east side of US75 between NW Highway and Caruth.
The usual format is to review operational details with Coordinators and Managers between 1:00pm and 2:00pm and for volunteers to signup for work shifts between 2:00pm and 3:00pm.
However, there are no secrets in NTIF, so if you all want to show up at 1:00pm and listen to Marsha, Sheri, myself and others talk about the positioning of beer booths, product sales, horses, archery contests and the like, then come on down.
This is more of a "pep rally", but with some business issues on the side. The bar will be open, and you can come eat brunch with us around noon if you wish! New volunteers, not so new volunteers, downright ancient volunteers - all are welcome. Come on down and start the party!
All volunteers wishing to serve beer or pour whickey at the tasting must attend a TABC Certification class and pass the test at the end of the class. We are still working on a TABC class to be held at the Doubletree Hotel, Campbell Center.
Alternatively, if you live out of Dallas you can attend any TABSS certified class by going online to the TABSS web site. The class may also be taken online - Learn2Serve - TABC Seller/Server Training.
Volunteer orientation sessions will be held for all Stage Managers, Drivers and Admissions staff in early February. These orientation meetings are designed to give new, and returning volunteers, more information on their specific duties. We have great volunteers, but we have learned from many people that we do tend to throw people into a job and expect them to learn things like how to operate credit card machines, how to set up a stage between bands and how to navigate vans through Fair Park and DFW airport.
We will hold an Volunteer Orientation Day in February TBD at our offices at 2528 Elm, Dallas. That's just one block east of I45, but it's a one way street, so use your GPS or Google Maps to locate us. We have plenty of space, so all orientation will happen at the same time.
All orientation meetings are paid for by NTIF. You just have to get there!
